Setting or clearing an HDD password |
The HDD password offer users a safe method of encoding data on the storage drive and is specifically suited to enterprise users. You cannot use the hard disk if you do not know the hard disk password. Even if you use another computer, you will not be able to crack the password or access hard disk data. Once an HDD password is set up, you will be asked to enter it for the Setup password and POST password. You are able to change the password. To do this, enter your old password to verify your identity, then enter the new password twice.
The HDD password is only saved in HDD firmware and will not be backed up in BIOS firmware. There is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password.
