Set an IP address

  1. Right-click the Internet icon on the taskbar and select Open Network & Internet settings.

  2. Click Network and Sharing Centre.

  3. Select your network name and click Properties.

    If your computer is currently not connected to any networks, click Change adapter settings. Then, right-click WLAN and select Properties.

  4. Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

  5. Click Use the following IP address: and fill in the IP address and DNS address. Click OK.
     
    • Do not enter the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway at random. Click Details in step 4 to view your dynamic IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway, and then set your dynamic IP address accordingly or contact your network administrator for assistance.

    • If you need to reset your dynamic IP address, select Obtain an IP address automatically and click OK.
