The system can't be restored to factory settings by using F10 |
Cause
- The issue may have been caused by having created a system recovery disk via a USB flash drive and restored the system. According to the USB flash drive recovery mechanism for Windows 10, using USB flash drive to restore the system damages the hidden partition that came with the device. As a result, the F10 one-key restoration feature is no longer available.
- Third-party software or malicious programs have been optimised, or hard disk partitions and hard disk configurations have been manually changed. As a result, the F10 one-key restoration feature is abnormal. Based on data security principles, when the recovery software detects an exception, an error message or the troubleshooting page is displayed.
- After the WinRE disk is formatted, the format of the disk is changed from NTFS to FAT32, which does not meet the format requirements of the WinRE disk, and does not support the WinRE function.
- The MateBook first-generation (Hertz) does not support the F10 one-key restoration feature.
Solution
You can use the Windows 10 restore function to reset the system. During startup, press and hold F8, then click Troubleshoot > Reset this PC. It is recommended that you choose to save backup files. After about 40 minutes (depending on file size), the system will reset.
- If the F10 one-key restoration feature is unavailable because the disk recovery partition is damaged due to disk partitioning or other operations, to restore this feature, it is recommended that you back up data on all computer drives (including the C drive, D drive, E drive, and F drive), and take your device to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
