Unable to access the Internet when connecting to a BT Hub |
Problem:
When connecting to a BT Hub router, an error message is displayed to indicate that there is no Internet access, as shown in the following figure.
Solution:
Disable Smart Setup on the BT Hub.
Method 1: Disable the feature from your phone.
- Connect your phone to the Hub's Wi-Fi network. When prompted, touch CONNECT.
- Open a browser and log in to the Hub's configuration website. The configuration website URL, such as 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254, as well as the default user name and password are printed on the back of the Hub. If you have changed the password but forgotten it, refer to the Hub user guide or consult BT for further instructions.
- Go to Advanced Settings > Business Network/Home Network > Smart Setup, set Enable Smart Setup to No, and touch Apply.
Method 2: Disable the feature from your computer.

The configuration website URL, such as 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254, as well as the default user name and password are printed on the back of the Hub. If you have changed the password but forgotten it, refer to the Hub user guide or consult BT for further instructions.
- Go to Advanced Settings > Business Network/Home Network > Smart Setup, set Enable Smart Setup to No, and click Apply.
