What to do if you cannot connect a standalone secondary router to your main router |
Before using it in another room, you must first connect your standalone secondary router to your main HUAWEI router. If the pairing process fails, there are several things you can check to try and solve this issue.
- Make sure you have configured your main router using the Huawei AI Life app.
- To configure the router, first connect your phone to the router's Wi-Fi network; you can find the name of the Wi-Fi at the bottom of the router.
Then open Huawei AI Life and go to Configure > Set up. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter the Broadband account and Broadband password provided by your Internet provider into the correspondingfields, then touch CONNECT. Set a new Wi-Fi name and password to complete the configuration of your main router

- Make sure that both your main and standalone secondary router are in the same room.
- Ensure that both routers are plugged into a wall socket.

If you press the button before the indicator flashes, wait around two minutes, until the indicator stops flashing.
Then press the H button again when the indicator starts flashing slowly.
- If the indicator of your main router does not start flashing, it means that it cannot find your secondary router.
If so, plug your secondary router into a wall socket that is closer to your main router.
- If the issue persists, restore your secondary router to its factory settings and try pairing it with your main router again.
