The Music app is abnormal on my HUAWEI WATCH 3/4 Series watch

If this issue occurs, troubleshoot based on your specific scenario.

When syncing music from the Huawei Health app to my watch, a message displays indicating that I need to agree to the privacy authorisation in Music on my watch

When you open the Music app on your watch for the first time, a message will display asking you to agree to the privacy authorisation. Agree to it. Always allow the music storage permission. Open the Huawei Health app, go to the Devices screen, touch your connected watch, then go to Music > Manage music > Add songs, select music to be added, and touchin the upper right corner of the screen.

Song transfer via Bluetooth is slower under Standard mode/Smart mode (non-Ultra-long Battery Life mode)

If the song file is large, transferring it via Bluetooth mode will take some time. It is recommended that you transfer songs via Wi-Fi mode instead. Enable Wi-Fi on your phone, go to Settings > Apps > Apps > Huawei Health > Permissions, and enable Location (Allow is recommended).

Wi-Fi transfer is not supported under Ultra-long Battery Life mode.

Unable to play, download, or add music to Favourites on the watch

When your watch is linked with the Huawei Health app, the network shared via Bluetooth is slow. As a result, a message may display indicating that the network speed is slow or the network connection timed out when you are playing or downloading music, or adding music to Favourites. If this is the case, unlink your watch from the Huawei Health app and use Wi-Fi or mobile data instead.

Operations such as music playback and download using mobile data are only available to users in areas where eSIM is supported and devices on which eSIM is activated.

Unable to sync music in Playlists/Favourites

  • If your watch runs 2.1.0.236 or later, you can sync local songs from Playlists/Favourites in the HUAWEI Music app to your watch.
  • Music in Playlists/Favourites in the Music app on your watch is synced via your HUAWEI ID. Go to Settings > Account on your watch and check whether you are logged in to the same HUAWEI ID. If not, log in to the same HUAWEI ID, and see if the issue is resolved.
  • Hi-Res songs in Playlists/Favourites in the HUAWEI Music app on your phone cannot be synced to your watch.

My watch keeps switching to the next track during music playback

  • Your watch will play daily recommended songs for 10 seconds. If you would like to listen to the full version, touch Listen to the full song or search for your desired song on the search screen.
  • During music playback on your watch, if the current song is a paid song, your watch will display a message indicating that membership is required, before automatically skipping to the next song. The watch will automatically skip through three paid songs in a row before pausing music playback.

  • The watch version of the Music app is not available when your watch is paired with an iPhone.
  • After updating your watch to version 2.0.0.155 or later, you can use the Music app on your watch when it is paired with an Android phone.
  • The search function in the Music app on your watch is only supported in the following languages: English (UK), French (France), Italian (Italy), German (Germany), European Spanish (Spain), and Latin American Spanish (Chile, Mexico, and Colombia).
