Hearing protection on Huawei earphones

Huawei earphones comply with the international IEC/EN 62368-1 safety standard regarding protection against sources of acoustic energy. However, using the earphones at a high volume for a long time may affect your hearing. It is recommended that you set a volume lower than 60% and take a break once an hour.

If you are using a HUAWEI Mate 40 series or Mate X2 phone, you can enable the Hearing protection feature that tracks your earphone volume levels and usage time, and sends a reminder when you are wearing the earphones for an extended period of time, or listening at a high volume for too long.

  1. Go to Settings > Digital Balance and follow the onscreen instructions to enable Digital Balance.
  2. Touch Hearing protection and enable it.

If you are using this feature for the first time, follow the onscreen instructions to enable it.
