Check whether the microphone is blocked by the protective case or other objects

Use a protective case that matches the phone and remove the obstacles around the microphone.

Clean the microphone hole

The microphone may be blocked by foreign objects. Try to clean the microphone with a dry soft brush.

Check whether the signal quality of the local or peer phone is normal

You can determine it by using the recording feature on the call screen of the phone.

If the other party still hears noises while your voice is normal in your recording file, check the signal quality of your phone or the other party's phone, and make a call again in an area with good signal quality.

Check whether Super Privacy mode is enabled (for foldable phones)

To disable Super Privacy mode, go to Settings > Privacy > Super Privacy mode and turn off the Turn on when folded and Always on switches.

After Super Privacy mode is enabled, apps cannot obtain the microphone, camera, and location data of your phone in the certain scenarios, which may cause no sound during calls.

Check whether the microphone is damaged

You can determine it by using the recording feature on the call screen of the phone and the smart detection tools.

If you hear noises in your recording file, go to My HUAWEI > Support > Smart Diagnosis > Microphone to check whether the microphone is faulty. If so, the microphone is faulty.

If the test indicates no exception but the issue persists, call the Huawei consumer service hotline, or back up your data in advance and take your device and proof of purchase to a nearby Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
