ECG measurement automatically starts on my HUAWEI watch before my finger touches the electrode
ECG measurement automatically starts on my HUAWEI watch before my finger touches the electrode |
Problem
After opening the ECG or Health Glance app on the HUAWEI watch, ECG measurement automatically starts before the user's finger touches the electrode.
Cause
Water may have entered or dirt may have built up on the side buttons, leading to increased capacitance of the ECG electrode and therefore automatic measurements before your finger touches the electrode.
Solution
- Water
Take off your watch and shake it two to three times with the side buttons facing down. If liquid comes out of the grooves around the buttons, use clean tissue or soft cloth to wipe it dry. Then leave the watch idle for 90 minutes, and try measuring again.
- Dirt
Use cotton swabs or screen/lens cleaning cloth to gently clean the areas around the buttons. If you are in a sandy area, it is recommended that you take off your watch temporarily and keep it safe, to reduce the risk of dust or dirt buildup.
If the issue remains unresolved, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
