How to add a bank card

Before using Huawei Pay, ensure that you have updated your phone and Wallet to the latest version.

  1. Open Wallet and log in with your HUAWEI ID. If you don't have a HUAWEI ID yet, follow the onscreen instructions to register one.

    1. The service location of your HUAWEI ID must be the same as the country/region where you use Huawei Pay. To check or change the HUAWEI ID service location, open AppGallery and go to Me > Settings > Country/Region.

    2. If you have used Huawei Pay in another country/region, it may result in a failure when you add cards in the current country/region. In this case, contact Huawei customer service for assistance. (Note: Please provide your HUAWEI ID and phone SN.)

Method for Adding Bank Cards in Wallet

UnionPay bank cards

Russia, Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia

1. Touch the + icon to add a bank card.

2. Scan your bank card or enter your card number. Then fill in all required information such as the expiration date and security code.

3. Complete card verification with your bank. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the verification code provided by your bank via a text message. You can also choose other verification methods. If the verification fails, please contact your bank.

4. The card will be added after the verification is complete.

Prerequisites for adding a bank card:

If this is the first time that you have added a bank card, you need to complete some security settings.

  1. Follow the onscreen instructions to set a security phone number, Payment PIN, and security question.
  2. Touch Payment authentication method. For optimal security and convenience, it is recommended that you use fingerprint or face recognition as the payment authentication method, for which you don't need an Internet connection to make an in-store payment by tapping your phone.
  3. Set the fingerprint for HUAWEI Wallet quick pay, by going to Wallet > Settings > General > Fingerprint. While your phone screen is turned off or locked, you can directly access the Wallet payment screen by verifying the fingerprint for HUAWEI Wallet quick pay. Note that verifying this fingerprint will not unlock your phone and you will need to use a different fingerprint for unlocking your phone.

Pakistan
  1. Touch + to add a bank card.
  2. Scan or enter the card number, enter the card information, and enter the phone number linked with the bank card.
  3. Complete authentication as required by your bank. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the SMS authentication code provided by your bank. You can also choose other authentication methods. If the authentication fails, please contact your bank.
  4. The card will be added after the authentication is successful.

Prerequisites for adding a bank card:

If this is the first time that you have added a bank card, you need to complete some security settings.

1. Follow the onscreen instructions to set a security phone number, Payment PIN, and security question.

2. Select a Payment authentication method. For optimal security and convenience, it is recommended that you use fingerprint or face recognition as the payment authentication method, for which you don't need an Internet connection to make an in-store payment by tapping your phone.

3. Set the fingerprint for HUAWEI Wallet quick pay. To do so, go to Wallet > Settings > General > Fingerprint. While your phone screen is turned off or locked, you can directly access the Wallet payment screen by verifying the fingerprint for HUAWEI Wallet quick pay. Note that verifying this fingerprint will not unlock your phone and you will need to use a different fingerprint for unlocking your phone.

Payments via QR codes

South Africa

1. Touch the + icon to add a bank card.

2. Scan your bank card or enter your card number. Then fill in all required information such as the expiration date and security code.

2. Touch the Bluecode service icon and follow the onscreen instructions.

2. You have selected a Payment authentication method. For optimal security and convenience, it is recommended that you use fingerprint as the payment authentication method, for which you don't need an Internet connection to make an in-store payment by scanning the payment QR code or showing your payment QR code.
