Changing the login password of the HUAWEI CPE

The login password is the administrator password of the web-based management page of your CPE and the router screen of the AI Life app. Modifying the login password frequently can reduce the risk of being attacked and cracked by hackers.

The UI is subject to the CPE model and management page version.

Method 1: Using the AI Life app

  1. Connect your phone to your CPE's Wi-Fi and open the AI Life app on your phone.
  2. On the home screen of the AI Life app, tap the target CPE. On the CPE management screen, go to Show more > Advanced settings > Account settings to modify the login password.

Method 2: Using the web-based management page

  1. Connect your phone or computer to the CPE's Wi-Fi (or connect your computer to the CPE's LAN port using a cable). Enter 192.168.8.1 in the address box of the browser, and enter the login password to access the web-based management page of the CPE.
  2. Go to Advanced > System > Modify Password, enter the Current password, New password, and Confirm password, and click Save.
