How to Erase Data in Find Device
How to Erase Data in Find Device |
Method 1:
Using the Huawei Find Device app, log in with the same Huawei account as the device from which you want to erase data. Select the corresponding device name, then click on Erase Data at the bottom of the page > Continue > Enter a message and phone number > Erase > Enter your Huawei account password > Confirm.
If you enable data erasure notifications, you will receive a text message on your registered phone number once the data has been successfully erased.
Method 2:
Log in to the Huawei Cloud official website (cloud.huawei.com) using the same Huawei account as the device from which you want to erase data. Go to the Find Device page, select the corresponding device name from the device list at the top of the page, and then click on Erase data in the upper right corner of the page. Click CONTINUE and enter the Message and phone number, then click ERASE, input your Huawei account password and Click OK.
- If you have selected the option to notify you after data erasure, a text message will be sent to the mobile number you provided once the data erasure is successfully completed.
- After successfully erasing the data, the device will be restored to factory settings, and all data on the device (including the storage card) will be permanently deleted. However, the cloud data under this account will not be deleted.
- After successfully erasing the data, if the device is connected to the network, it can still be located, but the ringing and re-erasure of data operations cannot be performed.
- After successfully erasing the data, only the cloud space official website supports setting the lost mode (the find device client does not support setting the lost mode). Since the device is in the startup wizard interface, the lost mode will not take effect, and the page will prompt "Waiting to enter lost mode".
- After successfully erasing the data, to activate and reuse the device, you need to verify with the password of the Huawei account that has been bound to the device.
- After successfully erasing the data, it cannot be undone, equivalent to a forced factory reset. Please operate with caution. After erasing the data, you will enter the activation interface, and you need to enter the Huawei account and password to activate. Once the data is successfully erased, the phone will restart and enter the startup wizard interface, and you need to enter the password of the bound Huawei account to enter the system. At this time, if the SIM card is still in the phone, dialing will result in a busy tone.
- After the data erasure command is issued, it will be retained on the server for 15 days. If the command has not taken effect within 15 days due to the device not being online or other reasons, you need to reset the data erasure after 15 days.
