Update issues of HUAWEI WATCH Series
Update issues of HUAWEI WATCH Series |
- Updating the system on your watch: Disconnect your watch from your phone (by disabling Bluetooth on your watch or phone), and connect your watch to Wi-Fi. If you're using a HUAWEI WATCH 5 device, tap Settings, the device, and then Update available and update your watch. If you're using a HUAWEI WATCH 3/4 device, go to Settings > Apps > Apps > Update > Storage > Clear data, and go to Settings > System & updates > Update. (This method is recommended.)
- Updating the system via Huawei Health: For phones running EMUI 10 or later, open Huawei Health, access the device details screen, and tap Firmware update. For phones running HarmonyOS 5.0 or later, go to Huawei Health > Devices > General settings > Firmware update. (Note: The Firmware update option is unavailable on iPhones, indicating that updates on iPhones are not supported.)
For HUAWEI WATCH 5, it is recommended that you enable Auto-download update packages over Wi-Fi or Auto-update for automatic updates. To do so, tap Settings and then the device, and go to Check > Settings > Auto-download update packages over Wi-Fi/Auto-update.
Before updating your watch, ensure that your watch is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network and the battery level is higher than 45%. If the battery level is lower than 45%, charge your watch for a while and try again.
If an error occurs when updating your watch, troubleshoot the issue based on your specific scenario:
The Huawei Health app fails to transfer the update package/transfers the update package slowly
- Disable Bluetooth on your phone.
- Connect your watch to a Wi-Fi network. For HUAWEI WATCH 3/4, go to Settings > System & updates > Update. For HUAWEI WATCH 5, tap Settings, the device, and then Update available.
- After the update is complete, enable Bluetooth on your phone.
Unable to detect a new version
- Please wait for three to five days before checking for an update. Generally speaking, the watch version will be pushed in batches within seven days. Please wait patiently for the push notification of the new version.
- Connect your watch to a Wi-Fi network. For HUAWEI WATCH 3/4, go to Settings > System & updates > Update. For HUAWEI WATCH 5, tap Settings, the device, and then Update available.
- Check the network connection of your watch and phone. Ensure that your watch and the Huawei Health app can access the network.
Unable to download and install the new watch version
- If your watch's network signal is poor, the download of the update package and the download speed will be affected. Ensure that your watch is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network, and go to Settings > System & updates > Update to download the update package.
- During the installation, your watch will display a progress bar. Once the update is completed, your watch will restart automatically.
- If the update package fails to be verified, authenticated, or installed, restart your watch and perform the update again. If the issue persists, restore your watch to its factory settings, download the update package, and try again.
Back up your data before restoring your wearable device to its factory settings, as it will clear all data from the device.
If the problem persists or you encounter any difficulties, back up your data, and bring your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
