Writing using a HUAWEI M-Pencil is intermittent or jitters

Problem

There is an extremely low probability that the writing is intermittent or jitters, or ink leakage occurs when the user writes on their tablet with a stylus.

Solution

  1. Troubleshoot as follows:
    1. Remove any non-HUAWEI magnetic case from the stylus as they may interfere with the stylus. Use a HUAWEI protective case instead.
    2. Write in HUAWEI Notes or Notepad pre-installed on the tablet. Third-party apps may have compatibility issues.
    3. If the jitter occurs on MatePad Pro 12.2-inch 2024/MatePad 11.5"S/MatePad Pro 13.2-inch/MatePad Air/MatePad 12 X/MatePad Pro 2022 (11-inch/12.6-inch)/MatePad 11-inch 2023, try calibrating the stylus.
    4. If your tablet supports refresh rate adjustment, set the refresh rate to Standard (60 Hz) by going to Settings > Display & brightness > Screen refresh rate. This setting item being unavailable indicates that your tablet does not support refresh rate adjustment.
    5. Restart your tablet and update the stylus firmware to the latest version. (On your tablet, go to Settings > Accessibility features > Stylus > Firmware update. If a new version is available, touch DOWNLOAD & INSTALL and follow the onscreen instructions to update the stylus firmware.) Then restart the stylus by referring to Restart HUAWEI M-Pencil (2nd/3rd generation) and try again.
  2. For a better writing experience, refer to the following suggestions:
    1. Use the stylus when the battery level is sufficient. If the battery level is low, the recognition of touch control signals will be affected. Do not use the stylus when your tablet is being charged and do use the standard HUAWEI charger to charge your stylus.
    2. There is a low probability that the stylus does not work or the writing is intermittent when there is strong interference. Please keep your stylus and tablet away from sources of interference (such as non-HUAWEI folio keyboard, too thick protective film, charger, and high-power electrical appliances).
    3. Draw straight lines at an even speed and try not to slow down.
    4. Use the stylus at the angle between the stylus and the screen greater than 30 degrees. Do not write on the edges of the screen.
    5. Click here to check whether the stylus is compatible with your PC/tablet. Incompatible styluses might not perform as expected.
    6. For optimal writing experience, update your tablet and stylus firmware to their latest versions. To update the tablet, go to Settings, and search for System & updates/Software update. To update the stylus firmware, go to Settings > Accessibility features > Stylus > Firmware update on your tablet, touch DOWNLOAD & INSTALL if a new version is available, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the update.
