Unable to charge a HUAWEI phone or tablet

No charging icon displays or the charging icon sometimes disappears when a charger is plugged in

  1. Check whether the charger is fully plugged into the charging ports (the device's USB port and the charger's port), and reconnect the charger to check whether the device can be charged.
  2. Plug the charger into another socket to see if the initial socket was faulty.
  3. Replace the data cable, charger, and the device to be charged in sequence to check whether the data cable, charger, or the device is faulty.
  4. Clean the plug and ports with a soft brush.
  5. Restart your device and try again.

No SuperCharge or fast charging icon displays when a charger is plugged in

  1. Check whether your phone/tablet supports SuperCharge or fast charging.
  2. Fast charging and SuperCharge have certain link requirements. For example, the charging cable must be a 5 A cable. If the cable is aged or worn out, it cannot meet the requirements. It is recommended that you use a new one.
  3. If the issue remains unsolved, it is recommended that you go to a store for further inspection.

Other charging exceptions

  1. If you haven't used your phone/tablet for a long time or haven't charged your phone/tablet in a timely manner after it is powered off due to a low battery level, charge your phone/tablet for at least 30 minutes and then check whether it is charging successfully.
  2. If your phone/tablet can only be charged to 60%, see My HUAWEI phone/tablet displays a message indicating that the battery is abnormal during charging.
  3. If your phone/tablet can only be charged to a certain level, see Custom limit in the phone/tablet battery settings.

If the preceding solutions do not resolve the issue, back up your data and take your charging device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
