The Huawei Health app doesn't show my workout route when I start an outdoor workout on my watch/band
| The Huawei Health app doesn't show my workout route when I start an outdoor workout on my watch/band |
If the workout route doesn't appear in the outdoor workout record synced to the Huawei Health app after completing an outdoor workout on your watch/band, follow these steps:
If your wearable device does not support independent GPS
If your watch/band does not support independent GPS, outdoor workout routes won't be recorded, which is expected. However, you can still use your phone's GPS and the Huawei Health app to record workout routes (note that this feature is not available on third-party Android phones). Here's how you can do it:
- Start an outdoor workout on your watch/band:
If you're using a HUAWEI phone or an iPhone, you can start an outdoor workout directly on your watch/band. Just keep your phone with you during the workout. Make sure your watch/band stays connected to the Huawei Health app and the app remains in the foreground during your workout.
- Start an outdoor workout in the Huawei Health app:
You can start an outdoor workout session directly in the Huawei Health app. During the workout, make sure that your phone is with you, your watch/band is connected to the Huawei Health app, and the app remains in the foreground.
- When using your phone's GPS to record workout routes, make sure that you turn on the mobile data switch.
- When using your phone's GPS to record workout routes, make sure you grant location permissions to the Huawei Health app (you are advised to select Always allow). Some phones may enter sleep mode when the screen is locked, which can prevent the Huawei Health app from accessing GPS location data, affecting the recording of distance and workout route mapping. To avoid this, enable background protection for the Huawei Health app by following the instructions in Setting the Huawei Health app to be protected in the background.
If your wearable device supports independent GPS
HUAWEI bands (like the HUAWEI Band 3 Pro or HUAWEI Band 4 Pro) do not display workout routes on the device itself. Make sure it's properly connected to the Huawei Health app. To sync data, you can either swipe down on the app's home screen to refresh, or go to Huawei Health > Me > Settings and tap Sync data manually.
You can check whether there is any route data for your outdoor workout in the Workout records app on your watch (available only on specific models).
- If no route data is found, refer to The outdoor workout routes on my HUAWEI watch/band are inaccurate for troubleshooting steps.
- If route data is available, make sure that your watch/band is properly connected to the Huawei Health app. You can sync data by swiping down on the app's home screen , or going to Huawei Health > Me > Settings and tapping Sync data manually.
