Unable to adjust the exposure value in normal mode and aperture in Wide aperture mode on my HUAWEI phone camera

Problem:

  • In normal mode, the focus circle disappears quickly and the exposure value can't be adjusted.
  • The aperture can't be adjusted in Wide aperture mode.

Cause:

In Developer options, Animator duration scale is set as Animation off.

Solution:

Open Settings, search for Developer options (Developer options), touch Animator duration scale (Animator duration scale), and select an option other than Animation off. Then turn off the screen and re-open Camera.

If you can't find Developer options (Developer options), perform the following steps to enable this feature and try again:

  • EMUI 8.X, EMUI 9.X, EMUI 10.X, and Magic UI 2.X/3.X: Open Settings, search for and access About phone, and touch the version number seven times in a row to call Developer options (Developer options).
  • EMUI 5.X: Go to Settings > About phone, and touch the version number seven times in a row to call Developer options.
