Water-resistant and dust-resistant level description

IPXX is a standardized indicator of a product's protection level against liquids and solid particles. There are two numbers after the IP. The first number is the protection level of important components against solid particles, ranging from 0 to 6, with 6 being the highest protection level. The second number is the level of protection against liquids, ranging from 0 to 8, with 8 being the highest protection level.

The device is water-resistant and dust-resistant, which means that it prevents water and dust from entering the interior of the device and damaging the interior components and main board.

In the following test scenarios, the normal temperature ranges from 15°C to 35°C, the relative humidity ranges from 25% to 75%, and the atmospheric pressure ranges from 86 kPa to 106 kPa (the standard atmospheric pressure is 101.325 kPa).

Resistance Level Definition

Water Resistance Level

Resistance Scenario

5ATM is a water-resistant standard (ISO22810) defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It indicates that the watch can stand up to simulated 50-meter static water pressure in a normal temperature for 10 minutes, and does not mean that the watch is water-resistant in water that is 50 meters deep. Devices with a resistance level of 5ATM are water-resistant when you are swimming. You can wear this type of device when swimming or taking part in other water-related activities in your daily life.

Dust-resistant level: If devices comply with the IEC 60529-2013 standard (level 6), it means that no dust can get inside.

Huawei wearable devices comply with 5ATM-rated water resistance under the ISO standard 22810: 2010 and such devices are tested to have a resistance rating of 50 meters.

Devices can prevent dust from living rooms, offices, laboratories, light industrial studios, and storage rooms from entering. They are not suitable in particularly dusty environments.

It can be used in shallow waters such as in swimming pools and at the beach, and can be worn and used during exercise (in contact with sweat), on rainy days, and when washing your hands.

If a watch with a speaker is soaked in water or the watch is worn in water, promptly remove water stains from the speaker or use the drainage feature of the watch to avoid the impact of the water stains on the speaker.

The wearable device is not suitable for use in the following scenarios:

1. Snorkeling, diving, scuba diving, or other activities carried out under high water pressure or after prolonged immersion in water.

2. In hot showers, hot springs, saunas, or steam rooms, and when taking part in other activities in high-temperature and high-humidity environments.

3. Activities involving high-velocity flows such as platform diving and high-pressure washing.

(Damage to the device caused by immersion in liquid is not covered by the warranty if the device is used in an unsuitable scenario.)

IP68: Devices that meet this standard are resistant to dust, dirt, and sand and can be immersed in water up to a depth of 1.5 m with a normal temperature and pressure for half an hour.

These devices comply with the IP68-rated resistance level under the IEC 60529-2013 standard.

These devices are dust-resistant in environments such as living rooms, offices, laboratories, workshops, and storage rooms. They are not suitable for particularly dusty environments.

They are resistant to being splashed by water. However, we recommend that you do not immerse your wearable devices in water. You can wear your wearable devices when you do exercise as they are resistant to sweat or wash your hands. You can also wear them when it is raining.

The wearable device is not suitable for use in the following scenarios:

1. Swimming, snorkeling, diving, scuba diving, or other activities with immersion in water for a long time.

2. In showers, hot springs, saunas, or steam rooms, and when taking part in other activities in high-temperature and high-humidity environments.

3. Activities related to high-speed water currents, such as diving, water skiing, surfing, motorized water sports (such as speedboats and motorboats), car washing, and rafting.

4. Other unsuitable types of use and scenarios where the device may be placed in water that is more than 1.5 meters deep or immersed in water for more than 30 minutes.

(Damage to the device caused by immersion in liquid is not covered by the warranty if the device is used in an unsuitable scenario.)

IP67: Devices that meet this standard are resistant to dust, dirt, and sand and can be immersed in water up to one meter deep with a normal temperature and pressure for half an hour.

These devices comply with the IP67-rated resistance level under the IEC 60529-2013 standard.

2. In showers, hot springs, saunas, steam rooms, and other activities in high-temperature and high-humidity environments.

3. Activities related to high-speed water currents, such as diving, water skiing, surfing, motorized water sports (such as speedboats and motorboats), car washing, and rafting.

4. Other unsuitable types of use and scenarios where the device may be placed in water that is more than 1 meter deep or immersed in water for more than 30 minutes.

(Damage to the device caused by immersion in liquid is not covered by the warranty if the device is used in an unsuitable scenario.)

IP57: Cannot completely prevent dust from entering, but the amount of dust entering must not affect the normal operation of the equipment or affect safety. Is able to prevent short-term immersion, under a normal temperature and pressure, when the device case is temporarily immersed in deep water with a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes, and it will not result in damage.

These devices comply with the IP57-rated resistance level under the IEC 60529:2013 standard.

Devices can prevent dust from living rooms, offices, laboratories, light industrial studios, and storage rooms from entering. They are not suitable in special dust environments.

2. In showers, hot springs, saunas, steam rooms, and other activities in high-temperature and high-humidity environments.

3. Activities related to high-speed water currents, such as diving, water skiing, surfing, motorized water sports (such as speedboats and motorboats), car washing, and rafting.

4. Directly expose the device to water coming from a tap, hose, sprinkler, or shower nozzle.

5. Other unsuitable types of use and scenarios where the device may be placed in water that is more than 1 meter deep or immersed in water for more than 30 minutes.

(Damage to the device caused by immersion in liquid is not covered by the warranty if the device is used in an unsuitable scenario.)

IP55: Devices that meet this standard are not completely resistant to dust, but dust that comes into contact will not affect its normal operation or cause any safety issues. These devices are resistant to being exposed to water jets of 12.5 L/min aiming at the cover from all directions for 3 minutes.

These devices comply with the IP55-rated resistance level under the IEC 60529-2013 standard.

Devices can prevent dust from living rooms, offices, laboratories, light industrial studios, and storage rooms from entering. They are not suitable in particularly environments.

The device is splash-proof and water resistant. You can wear your wearable devices when you do exercise as they are resistant to sweat or wash your hands. You can also wear them when it is raining.

The wearable device is not suitable for use in the following scenarios:

1. Being dropped into water, swimming, diving, or any other behavior or activity that immerses the device in water.

2. In showers, hot springs, saunas, steam rooms, and other activities in high-temperature and high-humidity environments.
