| Unable to access the Internet after connecting my HUAWEI phone/tablet to a Wi-Fi network |
If you are using a home Wi-Fi network, try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network or personal hotspot
- If your device can access the Internet after switching to another Wi-Fi network:
- Do not move too far away from the router.
- Check whether your broadband account is in arrears. Contact your broadband carrier to confirm the account status, restart the router and phone/tablet, and try again.
- If you have set the Blocklist/Trustlist on the router, check whether the MAC address of your phone/tablet is added to the blocklist/trustlist of the router. For details about how to set a blocklist or trustlist for a router, refer to Setting the Wi-Fi blocklist or trustlist on the HUAWEI CPE.
- If your device still can't access the Internet after switching to another Wi-Fi network:
- Disable and re-enable Wi-Fi.
- Open Settings, search for and tap Reset network settings, and reset all network settings as prompted. (Note: This operation will restore Wi-Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth connections and delete Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection records.)
If you are using a public Wi-Fi network
- Confirm that the public Wi-Fi network is working normally, and try connecting to it in a less crowded place.
- Some Wi-Fi networks require users to log in online on a website. Log in using Browser and see if this resolves the issue. If the authentication screen is not displayed, refer to The authentication screen fails to be displayed when I connect my HUAWEI phone/tablet to a public Wi-Fi network. If you still can't access the Internet after passing the authentication, refer to My HUAWEI phone/tablet fails to access the Internet after passing the authentication of a public Wi-Fi network.
If some apps cannot access the Internet
- Open Settings, search for and tap Mobile data, and tap Networked apps. Make sure that the Wi-Fi permission is enabled for the apps in question.
- Go to the router configuration screen and check whether IPv6 is enabled on the router. If so, disable IPv6 and try again.
If the preceding solutions do not resolve the issue, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
