Terms & Conditions

HUAWEI Service Day is held on three consecutive days at the end of each month.

HUAWEI Service Day is only eligible for walk-in customers of HUAWEI Authorized Service Centers within the Republic of South Africa, HUAWEI Authorized Service Centers, HUAWEI Service Center Menlyn Park Mall, HUAWEI Service Center Canal Walk, HUAWEI Service Center Cornubia Mall, & HUAWEI Authorized Service Centre DRC ,their employees and immediate families of employees are not allowed to participate in HUAWEI Service Day. HUAWEI’s distributors, dealers, partners, program organizer, their employees and immediate families of employees are not allowed to participate in HUAWEI Service Day.

By participating in HUAWEI Service Day, the customer hereby agrees and provides consent to HUAWEI to t use of any personal data as provided by the Customer to HUAWEI for the purpose of participation in HUAWEI Service Day. All personal information of the Promotion Participants will be strictly made use of regarding participation in the HUAWEI Service Day and will be stored in a secure repository and not transferred to any third party. For further information, please refer to the HUAWEI Privacy Policy located at https://consumer.huawei.com/za/legal/privacy-policy/.

HUAWEI Service is only applicable to certain HUAWEI devices https://consumer.huawei.com/za/support/service-day/.

By providing the personal data, Customer indicates that he/she have read, understood and agreed to be bound by HUAWEI’s Privacy Policy stated at https://consumer.huawei.com/za/legal/privacy-policy/.

By participating in HUAWEI Service Day, Customer agrees to participate and cooperate as required in all editorial activities relating to HUAWEI Service Day. Customer agrees to grant HUAWEI a perpetual and non-exclusive license to use such footage and photographs, voice, biographical information and/or statements, at any time or times, in all media types worldwide for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes and the Customer will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

Each Customer is only eligible to participate in the HUAWEI Service Day once a month. Photos taken during HUAWEI Service Day will be used for promotional purpose.

Customers agrees to have their names being published as a Competition on the HUAWEI Mobile SA Facebook https://www.facebook.com/HuaweimobileZA/, Twitter https://twitter.com/HuaweiZA/ and authorized HUAWEI Authorized Service Centers within the Republic of South Africa.

Customers may decline the use of his/her name by HUAWEI provided they notify HUAWEI before the end of the HUAWEI Service Day.

Personal information of the customer will be strictly made use of to provide the HUAWEI Service Day and will be stored in a secure repository and not transferred to any third party save for the purposes of providing the HUAWEI Service Day.

HUAWEI shall request the customers consent in writing to their image and/or likeness being used and published by HUAWEI in connection with the HUAWEI Service Day for a period of 12 (twelve) months after the end of the HUAWEI Service Day. The Customer may decline the use of his/her image and/or likeness by HUAWEI.

Customers name and/or image may be displayed on HUAWE’s Social Media Assets.

HUAWEI Service Day may be extended or reduced at the discretion of HUAWEI.

The HUAWEI Service Day, and any terms and/or conditions surrounding it may be amended by reasonable notification at any time and will be applied and interpreted in the sole discretion of HUAWEI.

Such altered terms and conditions shall become effective immediately after being altered or on such date as may be determined by HUAWEI. No Customer shall have any recourse against HUAWEI as a result of any alterations of the terms and conditions.

HUAWEI reserve the right to extend, reasonably shorten or suspend the time period of the HUAWEI Service Day for technical or commercial or operational reasons or for the greater public good or due to a “force majeure” event or generally for any reason whatsoever within their sole discretion, on condition that HUAWEI notify the Customer in a manner that is expedient according to its best ability.

The HUAWEI Service Day, any terms and/or conditions surrounding it may be amended by reasonable notification at any time during the HUAWEI Service Day, and will be applied and interpreted in the sole discretion of HUAWEI. Such altered terms and conditions shall become effective immediately after being altered or on such date as may be determined by HUAWEI. No Customer shall have any recourse against HUAWEI as a result of any alterations of the Terms and Conditions.

HUAWEI reserves the right to amend the rules and/or terminate the HUAWEI Service Day immediately at any stage, whether required as a result of changes in legislation, or if required by any national, provincial or municipal authority, or within the sole discretion of HUAWEI for any reason (recognized in law). Notice of such termination shall be published on HUAWEI’s Website. In such event, all Customers waive any rights that they may have/purport to have in terms of the HUAWEI Service Day and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against HUAWEI whatsoever.

In the event of a dispute in regard to any aspect of the HUAWEI Service Day and/or the Terms and Conditions, HUAWEI’s decision will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

All Customers indemnify HUAWEI, their associated and subsidiary companies, and their directors, officers and employees, against any and all claims for any loss and/or damages, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause whatsoever from the customers participation in any way in the HUAWEI Service Day..

"Free Clean-up Services and software upgrade" is only applicable to walk-in customers of the HUAWEI Authorized Service Centers within the Republic of South Africa. Software of a particular phone model can only be updated to the latest software version of the model according to the original software release schedule. For example, if HUAWEI P10 is scheduled to have only Android 7, then the highest version for HUAWEI P10 is Android 7.

Software downgrade is not available.

HUAWEI is not responsible for any data loss due to software updates. Customer is responsible to perform data back-up before performing any software updates.

The data back-up can be performed via HUAWEI HiSuite & HUAWEI BackUp to external storage.

For "Free Labour Charge for Out of Warranty Repair", Customer is entitled to a free labour charge repair services to participating HUAWEI devices https://consumer.huawei.com/za/support/service-day/ on HUAWEI Service Day.

During HUAWEI Service Day customers are not required to pay for labour charges of repair services in accordance with participanting HUAWEI devices https://consumer.huawei.com/za/support/service-day/.

Customer is required to pay the cost of parts replacement according to the repair quotation.

South African law shall govern these HUAWEI Service Day terms and conditions and the courts of South Africa shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
