| A message is displayed when attempting to access the Wi-Fi network indicating that network access has been rejected |
Cause:
- The MAC address filtering function (blocklist and trustlist) is enabled on the router.
- The public Wi-Fi hotspot can only be connected to by logging in on the web page.
- The router's channel is abnormal. The 2.4 GHz frequency band is between channels 6 to 13, and 5 GHz is between 100 to 120.
Solutions:
1. For a home network, check whether the MAC address filtering function (blocklist and trustlist) is enabled on the router. If so, disable the function and restart the router. You can also add your phone's MAC address to the router's MAC address trustlist or remove it from the blocklist. The MAC address filtering function can be customised by going to Wireless > Wireless MAC Filter on the router's management page. The path may vary depending on the product, but the setting items are usually the same. If you cannot find where to set the MAC address filtering function, refer to the user guide or consult with the router provider.
2. For a public Wi-Fi hotspot, you may need to log in from a web page to initiate a connection. For details, contact the Wi-Fi hotspot provider. If the connection still fails after trying several times, switch to another hotspot and try again.
3. If the router's channel is abnormal, set the 2.4 GHz frequency band to channels 1 to 5 and 5 GHz to channels 36 to 64 or 149 to 165. To set the router's channel (using the HUAWEI AX3 router as an example):
Access the router's background management page, usually by typing its IP address[d1] (such as 192.168.3.1) in your web browser (you can find the IP address from the label on your router).
Go to More Functions > Wi-Fi Settings > Advanced Wi-Fi Settings.
Set the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi channel or 5 GHz Wi Fi channel as required.
