If a black screen frequently appears on your HUAWEI phone/tablet and the device is not damaged, perform the following steps:
Scenario 1: The device cannot access the home screen or perform operations
The system may be damaged because system files are accidentally deleted or a non-official system is installed. In this case, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance. If it is not convenient for you to go to a Huawei Customer Service Centre, you can apply for postal repair through the My HUAWEI app, the Huawei consumer business website, or the official Huawei customer service WeChat account.
Scenario 2: The device can access the home screen and perform operations
1. Check whether the device is using a leather case/magnetic stand
Check whether your device is using a leather case/magnetic stand. If the magnets in the leather case do not match the device's specifications, or if the magnetic stand interferes with the device's magnetic sensor, the screen may automatically turn off due to identification errors. You can open Settings, search for Smart Cover, and select Off, or remove your device from the magnetic stand.
2. Check whether the screen turns on and off during WeChat voice calls or phone calls

Placing the phone close to your face during calls blocks the proximity sensor, which causes the screen to automatically turn off, to reduce power consumption and heat generated by the screen.
If the screen does not turn off when you place the phone close to your face during calls, the sensor may be faulty. Restart your phone and try again. If the issue persists or you encounter any difficulties, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance. If it is not convenient for you to go to a Huawei Customer Service Centre, you can apply for postal repair through the My HUAWEI app, the Huawei consumer business website, or the official Huawei customer service WeChat account.
3. Check whether a memory card (SD card) or an NM card is installed
Remove and reinsert the memory card or NM card, and check whether the issue persists. If this resolves the issue, the card and device may not have been in proper contact previously. If the issue persists, the card may be damaged or incompatible with the device system.
4. Forcibly restart the device
It is recommended that you press and hold the Power button for more than 15 seconds or press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons simultaneously for more than 10 seconds, to forcibly restart your device and try to access the home screen. If the device still cannot access the home screen or continues to display a black screen after restarted, the hardware may be faulty. In this case, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
5. If the issue persists
If the issue persists or you encounter any difficulties, please contact the Huawei customer service hotline for assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
