There is something profoundly revitalizing about diving into the open sea after a competition, a way to
reset not just physically but mentally as well. The day after my latest cliff diving event, I treated myself
to a slow, easy swim in the ocean. Not to train, not to push my limits, but simply to move, to breathe, and
to let the rhythm of the waves wash away the tension in my body. Even during this peaceful recovery session,
I had one quiet goal in mind: staying in tune with how my body was responding and recovering.
This is where the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro became the perfect companion. The watch did more than
simply
track my
distance or time. It offered real-time insights into my performance, supporting me without ever
interrupting the natural flow of my swim.
What started as a simple moment of relaxation turned into a complete journey, across the ocean, into the
gym, and along the open road, with the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro faithfully capturing every movement, every
heartbeat, and every step along the way.

Life After the Cliff: Why I Chose to Swim
Cliff diving is an intense sport. It demands not only courage and technical precision but also
explosive power and unwavering focus. After pushing my body to its absolute limits, recovery becomes
essential, not just to repair muscles but also to reset my mind.
Over time, I have found that swimming in open water the day after a competition offers the perfect
form of active recovery. The movements are smooth and low impact, the vastness of the sea gives me
space to breathe freely, and now, with the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro, I can make my recovery even
smarter.
Tracking from the First Splash
For this recovery swim, I used the Open Water Swim mode on the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro. I was not chasing
numbers, but the numbers found me anyway. The HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro automatically tracked every detail of my
session:
• Distance: 1,364 meters
• Duration: 30 minutes
• Average pace: 2:12 per 100 meters
• Calories burned: 270 kcal
Starting and stopping the session was effortless, and I loved being able to glance at my wrist mid-swim to check in on my performance, made possible by the very bright and clear screen. The watch also felt extremely light on my wrist. Even more impressive was the post-swim analysis, offering a complete snapshot of both performance and recovery in just a few taps.
“The HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro helped me reconnect with my body after the most intense week of competition without overthinking it.”
The Power of Real-Time Feedback
Even during a relaxed swim, it is easy to lose track of how your body is responding, especially
when it is fatigued. Throughout the session, I closely monitored my heart rate, which averaged
107 bpm and peaked at 140 bpm. After finishing, I reviewed my heart rate recovery, noticing a
steady decline as my body cooled down, signaling an effective recovery process.
The watch also captured key swimming metrics:
a) Stroke rate: 23 strokes per minute
b) SWOLF score (how efficiently one is swimming – combining the number of strokes one
takes and
the amount of time taken to swim a lap): 91
c) Total strokes: 697
These insights helped me better understand the rhythm and efficiency of my swim.
Even as a professional athlete, developing that level of awareness is difficult without the
right tools. The HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro made it effortless, turning a simple recovery
swim into a
meaningful, data-driven experience.
After my swim, the HUAWEI
Health App offers even more data, allowing me to stack all the data I collected during
my swim together for me to analyze.

Listen to Your Body - and Watch It Too
One of the most valuable features during my recovery was the ability to see my effort zones in
real time. After an intense event, avoiding overexertion was crucial, and the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro
made it easy. The watch clearly displayed how much time I spent in each training zone:
• Warm-up: 3 minutes
• Fat-burning: 12 minutes
• Minimal time in aerobic or anaerobic zones
This level of insight helped me stay in control, allowing me to recover with intention rather
than by feel alone.
From Sea to Land: Adapting to Every Training Style
While my ocean swim focused on gentle movement and recovery, my next sessions over the week shifted
gears with strength training at the gym, an outdoor run, and physical training. This was done by
activating the Strength Training mode, the Outdoor Running mode, and the Physical Training mode. The
watch once again provided a complete overview of my performances. Throughout these workouts, I liked
the subtle vibration alerts of my elapsed time and heart rate without interrupting my workout, as
well as pace charts, elevation gain and cadence data.
• Duration: 1 hour and 5 minutes
• Calories burned: 263 kcal
• Average heart rate: 103 bpm
• Peak heart rate: 139 bpm
• Effort zones: Predominantly warm-up and fat-burning
• Recovery suggestion: 2 hours

Back to Basics: Pool Swimming with Precision
To close out my training cycle, I opted for a controlled pool swim focused on endurance and
technique. This session was all about fundamentals, no waves, no distractions, just pure
movement and focus. After syncing the data from my HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro to the HUAWEI Health
App, I
was amazed by the level of detail captured:
• Distance: 1,475 meters
• Duration: 43:52 minutes
• Stroke style: Medley
• Laps: 59
• Strokes: 576
• Average heart rate: 96 bpm
• Average pace: 2:58 per 100 meters
• Average stroke rate: 13 strokes per minute
• SWOLF score: 56
This workout reminded me of the clarity and concentration that pool swimming brings. Without
the
elements of open water, it was just me, the black line at the bottom of the pool, and the
feedback from the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro. I particularly enjoyed checking my stroke
rate and SWOLF score
after each set, knowing I was not just swimming laps but actively building efficiency and
refining my technique.

“In the water, on the road, or in the gym, this watch gives me insights, not interruptions.”
A Smartwatch for a Smarter Routine
Across all these activities, from the ocean to the gym to the running track, one thing stayed
consistent: the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro was not just collecting numbers, it was communicating
with me.
Whether swimming, lifting weights, or logging miles on the road, the watch adapted seamlessly to
my
training and recovery needs. It kept me informed, kept me balanced, and most importantly, kept
me
connected to my body. That balance is something every athlete, whether professional or
recreational,
can benefit from.

Conclusion
Smarter Training, Stronger Recovery
This past week has shown me that recovery and performance are not just about pushing harder -
they
are about understanding your body and responding to it with purpose. Whether I was floating
through
the waves, grinding out a strength session, pacing myself on the road, or refining my technique
in
the pool, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro was there at every step. It turned every workout,
every recovery
swim, and every run into an opportunity to learn more about how I move, how I improve, and how I
recharge.
The real power of the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Pro is not just in the data it collects, but in how it
helps athletes of all levels stay connected to themselves. By giving real-time feedback and
actionable insights, it transforms training from guesswork into a guided journey - a smarter way to
build strength, endurance, and resilience. After a demanding competition cycle, I feel stronger,
sharper, and more in tune with my body than ever before. And I am convinced: smarter recovery leads
to greater results.
