Swipe down from the middle of the screen and search for the app in question in the search box.
If the app is found, tap it in the search result to see its location. If the app can't be found, it does not exist.
If the app can be found
- Switch Home screen style to Standard
Open Settings, enter Home screen style in the search box, and check whether Drawer is set. It is recommended that you switch to Standard and try again.
- Exit Simple mode
Open Settings, tap Exit Simple mode, and find the app that you wish to use.
- Change the theme to an official one
Open Themes, tap Me, select one of the Preset themes, tap Apply, and then try to find the app again.
If the app can't be found
- Switch to the MainSpace or exit Safe mode
- Some apps and settings in the MainSpace are not displayed when using a sub-user or Guest account, or accessing PrivateSpace. Switch to the MainSpace to view them.
- Under Safe mode mode, only basic functions and pre-installed apps are available. If Safe mode is displayed in the lower left corner of the screen, your phone/tablet is in Safe mode mode.
After your phone/tablet restarts, it will enter the MainSpace by default.

Troubleshoot the issue by referring to Pre-installed system apps on my HUAWEI phone/tablet fail to be restored after being uninstalled.
Apps pre-installed on your device, such as Screen recording and Flashlight, do not have home screen icons. Swipe down from the upper right corner of the screen to display the shortcut switch panel to use them.
- Third-party apps: Download and install the app from AppGallery again.
