When FilterKeys is enabled, Windows system will ignore brief or repeated keys. You can also modify keyboard repeat rate to avoid accidental keystrokes, and set your own keystroke speed.

Once FilterKeys is enabled, only function keys (such as F1) and touchpad can work properly.

To enable FilterKeys, perform the following:

  1. Press and hold Shift on the right for more than 8 second.
  2. Click Yes.

To disable FilterKeys, perform the following:

  1. Enter Control Panel in the search bar and open it.

  2. Click Ease of Access.

  3. Click Change how your keyboard works.

  4. Clear the Turn on Filter Keys check box and click Yes.
