How to use Google Find My Device

Google Find My Device [ Global ]

 

If you lose a Huawei phone or tablet, you can find, lock, or erase it. If you've added a Google Account to your Huawei device, Find My Device is automatically turned on.

To use Find My Device, your lost device must:

  1. Be turned on
  2. Be signed in to a Google Account
  3. Be connected to mobile data or Wi-Fi
  4. Be visible on Google Play
  5. Have Location turned on
  6. Have Find My Device turned on


Step 1: Open Google on a Web Browser

Step 2: Type in Find my Device on Google Search Box and Select Find My Device

Step 3: Log in with your Google Account connected with the Phone.


Step 4: Choose the Device you want to track, play sound, set up, secure and erase. 


Ring, lock, or erase a lost device:Use Android Device Manager to remotely ring or lock your device, erase everything on it, or add a phone number to the lock screen.


 


Play sound
Rings your device at full volume for 5 minutes, even if it's set to silent or vibrate.



Lock

Locks your device with your PIN, pattern, or password. If you don't have a lock, you can set one. To help someone return your device to you, you can add a message or phone number to the lock screen.


 


Erase
Permanently deletes all data on your device (but might not delete SD cards). After you erase, Find My Device won't work on the device.

Important: If you find your device after erasing, you'll likely need your Google Account password to use it again.


 

 

On the map, see about where the device is.

The location is approximate and might not be accurate.

If your device can't be found, you'll see its last known location, if available.

 

 

 

Find with an app

1.     On another Android phone or tablet, open the Find My Device appFind My Device app. If the other device doesn't yet have the app, get it on Google Play.

2.     Sign in.

Ø  If your own device is lost, tap Continue as [your name].

Ø  If you're helping a friend, tap Sign in as guest and let your friend sign in.

3.     Follow the same steps as for the website.

 

 

Note: To utilize Google’s Find My Phone, the lost device should be turned on with Location Services and Internet ON for it to work.

 


If your phone does not have any phone retrieval function enabled, we recommend that you call the police immediately for further assistance.
