The screen lags while gaming when the computer is not connected to the charger

Cause:

To prevent overload and damage to your computer's battery, your computer lowers its CPU frequency when running power-intensive apps or games, and this may lead to screen lag.

Solution:

Connect your computer to the charger while gaming. Click the battery icon and move the slider under Power mode (plugged in): Better performance to Best Performance.
