About the Lock device function in Find Device

This knowledge also applies to tablets.

Method 1:

Use a browser on a computer or phone to log in to http://cloud.huawei.com with your HUAWEI ID. Access Find Device and locate your phone, as shown in the following figure.

Touch Lock device, then set a new lock screen password for your phone and lock it. Note that this password is not the same as your HUAWEI ID password. You can only set a PIN as the lock screen password. If you have set a lock screen password for your phone, you will not be able to set it again using Find Device. You can leave a message on the locked phone, which will be displayed on its lock screen.

Method 2:

On a Huawei phone, log in to Find Device with your HUAWEI ID, and select the corresponding device to locate your phone. Then touch Lock device to lock the device. The operation is the same as when using a browser.

If Device will be locked when it connects to the Internet. is displayed, the device has been powered off or is not connected to the Internet.

After a device is locked, its location will be continuously tracked as long as it is logged in to your HUAWEI ID, powered on, connected to the Internet, and has had Find Device enabled. The trajectory of the device in the most recent 24 hours will be displayed on the map. This helps increase the possibility of finding it.

As shown in the following figure, the blue location pins show the locations the device has been to after it was locked. The large locating icon (with a lock in it) indicates the latest location of the device. The dotted blue lines between the locations show the distance between the points.

You can touch any location pins to check the exact time when the device was there.

Due to performance limitations of some models, the functions related to the locked device may not be supported. When you set a password or fill out contact information in Lock mode, the screen may become erratic or blank. In this case, use a browser to log in to http://cloud.huawei.com and go to the device search page to set the lock mode.
