Unable to receive calls on my HUAWEI phone/tablet

If there are times when your phone/tablet cannot receive calls while the SIM card signal is normal, your local carrier's network may be faulty. Contact your local carrier for assistance.

If your phone/tablet cannot receive calls most of the time, follow the steps below to troubleshoot:

Check whether you are unable to receive calls from a specific number

If you are unable to receive calls from a specific number, contact the other party in another way to check whether the phone number of the other party is abnormal.

Check whether you have subscribed to the VoLTE service for your SIM card (If you have, the HD icon will be displayed on the status bar)

Resubscribe to the VoLTE service, and try again.

If your VoLTE subscription is not working properly, you may fail to receive calls. It is recommended that you contact your local carrier to resubscribe your phone number to the VoLTE service, and then restart your phone/tablet for the subscription to take effect.

Check whether Blocked has been enabled on your phone/tablet

  1. Open Dialer or Phone, tap or in the upper right corner, go to Blocked > Block rules, and check whether Blocklist has been set. If it has been set, hold down on the number that you wish to receive calls to remove it from Blocklist.

For EMUI 10.1.1 or earlier: Open Phone, tap in the upper right corner, tap Blocked, tap the Settings button in the upper right corner, and tap Blocklist. Hold down on a number to remove it from Blocklist.

  2. Tap Call block rules to check whether any of the call blocking functions have been enabled. If so, certain calls will not be connected. It is recommended that you enable or disable these functions as required. If you want all incoming calls to be connected, disable all call blocking functions.

Calls may have been blocked by third-party phone/tablet manager apps on your phone/tablet. If this is the case, please uninstall these apps. It is recommended that you use the pre-installed Blocked feature on your device.

Check whether you have subscribed to your carrier's call barring service for your SIM card

Some carriers provide a call barring service. If you have subscribed to this service for your SIM card, some or all incoming calls will be barred. For details, contact your carrier's customer service team.

Check whether Call forwarding has been enabled for your SIM card

If Call forwarding has been enabled for your SIM card, incoming calls will be forwarded to another mobile number, so you will not receive calls.

Open Dialer or Phone, tap or in the upper right corner, go to Settings > Call forwarding, and check whether call forwarding has been enabled. If it has been enabled, disable Call forwarding, and try again.

Contact your carrier to check whether the network is normal

Your carrier's network may be faulty (for example, the network parameter configuration is incorrect or the SIM card package is incorrect). In this case, contact your carrier for assistance.

If the issue remains unresolved

If the issue remains unresolved, contact the Huawei customer service hotline, or back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
