- Press Win+I to open the Settings window, and go to .
- Click Advanced system settings. Choose the Advanced tab in the displayed System Properties window, and click Settings under Performance.
- In the Performance Options window, go to , and set your customized visual effects. Deselecting Show shadows under mouse pointer and Show shadows under windows will remove shadows under your mouse pointer and those under the text of desktop icons.
