How to modify the PLC network name

For security reasons and to ensure the privacy of your home network, each router pack is assigned a random default PLC network name. If you modify your PLC network name, your existing routers will no longer be able to connect to the network and you will have to restore them to their factory settings and perform the networking process again.

Ensure that you have already completed the Internet access wizard for your router using the HUAWEI AI Life app.

  1. Connect your computer to your router's Wi-Fi network (or connect your computer to any of your router's Ethernet ports using an Ethernet cable). In your browser's address bar, enter 192.168.3.1 and log in to the web-based management page.
  2. Go to More Functions > PLC Settings and click the button next to your primary router. Enter the new PLC network name and password in the pop-up dialog box and then click Save.

You cannot modify the PLC network names of your secondary routers. Once you modify the network name of your primary router, the modified name will automatically sync to your secondary routers.
