My phone heats up during charging

It is normal for your phone to heat up while charging, especially if it supports fast charging or super fast charging, as the current and voltage are higher when compared with normal charging.

If you are charging your phone wirelessly, your phone may generate heat due to energy loss during wireless data transmission. This is normal and does not indicate an issue with your phone.

To prevent your phone from overheating, perform the following:

Use the charger that came with your phone

It is recommended that you use the standard charger to charge your phone. Using a third-party charger may result in your phone heating up due to incompatible charging specifications.

Charge your phone in a place with good heat dissipation

Place the phone in a well-ventilated environment, such as indoors or on a desk. If the heat dissipation is poor, such as under direct sunlight, in a car, or on a bed or sofa, the phone temperature will increase.

Avoid using your phone while charging it

Do not use your phone while charging it, as this may make the overheating worse.

Clear background apps that are not in use

If there are too many apps running in the background, it is recommended that you promptly clear apps that are not in use.

If your phone gets overheated abnormally when being charged using a standard charger at a room temperature of about 25°C, or your phone prompts you that the temperature is too high, remove the charger, back up your data, and take your phone and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
