Unable to transfer files using Huawei Share on my HUAWEI phone/tablet
| Unable to transfer files using Huawei Share on my HUAWEI phone/tablet |
There are multiple reasons why files fail to be transferred using Huawei Share on a HUAWEI phone/tablet. You can troubleshoot the issue as follows:
Check that the prerequisites for using Huawei Share are met
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Make sure that both devices have enabled Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
- Huawei Share: Make sure that both devices have enabled Huawei Share. To do so, open Settings, and search for and tap Huawei Share. (If the feature cannot be found, it indicates feature unavailability.)
- Range: Keep the two devices within the effective Bluetooth range (10 meters).
- Screen: Make sure that the sending and receiving devices are locked but have their screens on.
If the issue persists, perform the following steps
Check the storage space
Both devices must have sufficient storage space for file sharing and transfer. If the storage space is insufficient, free up some space. For details, see My HUAWEI phone/tablet displays a message indicating that the storage space is insufficient.
Check and disable any conflicting features
Huawei Share, Wi-Fi Direct, Wireless Projection, Wi-Fi signal bridge, Multi-Screen Collaboration, Huawei Beam, and VPN share the same transmission channel. Therefore, these features cannot be used simultaneously. If the above features are enabled, disable them and then try again.
Enable Huawei Share again
Disable Huawei Share and then enable it again.
Clear HwNearby and Huawei Share data
Delete HwNearby and Huawei Share data, and then try again. To do so, open Settings, search for and access Apps, go to
(in the upper right corner) > Show system processes, search for and tap HwNearby and Huawei Share respectively, and go to Storage > Clear data.
If two results are displayed after you search for Huawei Share, delete the data for both. This operation will not affect important data.
Reset network settings
Open Settings, search for and tap Reset network settings, and try transferring files again.
Resetting network settings will only reset Wi-Fi, mobile data, Bluetooth (such as hotspot connections and Bluetooth pairings), and NearLink settings, without resetting other settings or deleting any data or files.
If the issue remains unresolved
If the issue remains unresolved or you encounter any difficulties, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
