Check whether the front camera supports the autofocus feature
If your phone's front camera supports a fixed focal length, you'll only be able to take clear photos at a certain distance, and autofocus is not supported. It is recommended that you shoot from a distance of 25–50 cm.
If your phone's front camera supports autofocus, the camera can automatically adjust the focus distance when you take photos. With the feature, you can take clear photos of nearby or distant objects within a certain range.
If the front camera supports the autofocus feature, perform the following steps to troubleshoot:
- Ensure that the camera lens, laser sensor, and flash are not blocked (by a lens film or tempered glass screen protector) or smudged. It is recommended that you clean the camera lens and try again.
- Check whether the camera lens has any hardware faults, such as scratches or cracks. If so, go to a nearby Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
- Make sure that the ambient light is sufficient. It is recommended that you turn on the flash or shoot in a well-lit environment. It is recommended that you wait until the focus frame disappears before shooting. Otherwise, the photo may be blurred.
- Clear the camera cache before shooting. This will reset camera settings to default without deleting user data.
Procedure: Open Camera, tap the Settings icon in the upper right corner, and tap Restore defaults.
