[HUAWEI] The kids watch runs out of battery quickly
[HUAWEI] The kids watch runs out of battery quickly |
According to Huawei lab test data, kids watches can sustain up to one or two days of typical usage (when the watch is used normally under default settings, with Class time and Schedule on/off enabled.) Actual battery life may vary depending on the network environment, usage habits, and frequency of use.
Common factors that affect power consumption:
- If your kid listens to music or audiobooks for a long time or frequently makes video calls or uses third-party apps, the watch may run out of battery quickly.
- In some indoor environments such as classrooms or areas with a number of tall buildings nearby, underground garages, or in areas not well-covered by carrier network, the watch will constantly search for available network or switch between base stations, which will lead to a higher power consumption.
- If you have enabled Safe Zones to keep track of your kid's location, the watch will initiate positioning automatically in the background and send you location information using the HUAWEI FamCare app. In this case, the watch will drain battery faster.
Perform the following operations based on your actual situation, to prolong battery life:
- Enable Power saving mode/Ultra power saving mode as required.
- Check power consumption of all apps on the watch by going to Devices > Frequently > More > Battery management > Battery consumption in HUAWEI FamCare, and disable power-intensive apps or use them less frequently as required.
- Enable the Schedule on/off feature for the watch to power off as scheduled (for example, after bedtime), so as to prolong its battery life.
If the issue persists, take off your watch and keep it still. If the watch consumes more than 10% of power within four hours, the battery may be faulty. In this case, back up your data, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
