Unable to answer/make voice calls on the HUAWEI kids watch

  • The calling feature on kids watches requires a standard nano-SIM card.

We will continue to optimize our products to improve your calling experience. It is recommended that you update your watch to the latest version and try again. If the issue persists after the update, please refer to the troubleshooting steps for the corresponding scenario:

The watch cannot make or answer any voice calls

The watch can only make or answer voice calls

If the kids watch cannot make or answer any voice calls, including calls from the main and common admins, and saved family members/contacts

1. Check whether the signal at the watch's location is normal

  • Check the signal coverage: If the watch has a weak signal or no signal (for example, fewer than two signal bars or no signal bars), move to an area with better signal (such as a balcony or outdoors) to answer or make calls, or contact your carrier to check the network coverage in your area.
  • Enable the HD calling feature: Swipe down from the top of the watch home screen to display the status bar and check the network signal icon. If the status bar does not display the HD or VoLTE icon, contact your local carrier to enable the VoLTE service, restart the watch, and try again.

2. Check whether the SIM card service on your watch is normal

  • If the caller ID service is not activated for the SIM card of your watch, all incoming calls will not display the phone number and will be identified as unknown calls. You can contact your carrier to activate the service.
  • If the watch cannot make calls, or displays a message indicating that the number is empty, the watch is powered off, the watch is suspended, or the call is restricted, it indicates that the SIM card service is abnormal. In this case, contact your local carrier.

If the watch can only make or answer voice calls

1. Check whether the watch is in a special mode

  • If the watch is in Class Time mode, it will reject all incoming calls. Disable Class Time on the watch and try again. To disable this feature, go to HUAWEI FamCare > Devices > Usage stats & time limits > Class Time, and toggle off the switch for the corresponding time period.
  • If the watch is in Sleep mode, it will reject incoming calls from non-admins. Disable Sleep mode on the watch and try again. To disable this feature, go to HUAWEI FamCare > Devices > Usage stats & time limits > Sleep mode.

2. Check whether the incoming call number has been added to the contacts list on the watch

To ensure your child's privacy and safety, the Block strangers feature is enabled on the kids watch by default. If you do not need to enable this feature, go to HUAWEI FamCare > Devices > Chats & calls, and disable Block strangers. Alternatively, you can add the number to the watch's contacts list via the HUAWEI FamCare app and try calling the kids watch again.

  • If you are using a quick number for family members or a group number, add it to the watch's contacts list.

3. Check whether the contact number is complete and correct

Check whether the contact number is saved correctly. You can go to HUAWEI FamCare > Devices > Contacts to view and edit the contact number.

If the issue persists

If the issue persists, try replacing the SIM card. If the issue remains unresolved or you encounter any difficulties, go to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
