Unable to see HUAWEI FreeBuds series earphones in the Find Device list

Read here to learn about the Find My Earphones feature on HUAWEI FreeBuds series earphones. If you can't find your HUAWEI earphones in the Find Device list, troubleshoot as follows:

Check your device's system version

This feature is only supported on phones/tablets running EMUI 11.0 or later.

  • The Find Device app is not available on non-HUAWEI phones. If the FreeBuds Pro 2,FreeBuds Lipstick、FreeBuds 4 (other earphone models are not currently supported) are used with a non-HUAWEI phone that runs the AI Life app, you can find the earphones by ringing them within the Bluetooth range. This feature can't be used to locate the device.
  • The Find Device feature is not supported on the following models after being updated from EMUI 9.X to EMUI 12.0:
    1. HUAWEI P10, HUAWEI P10 Plus, HUAWEI Mate 9, HUAWEI Mate 9 Pro, PORSCHE DESIGN HUAWEI Mate 9, HUAWEI nova 2s, HUAWEI nova 3, HUAWEI nova 3i, HUAWEI Y9 2019, HUAWEI MediaPad M5 10-inch, HUAWEI MediaPad M5 Pro 10-inch, HUAWEI MediaPad M5 8-inch, HUAWEI MediaPad M5 lite 8-inch, HUAWEI MediaPad M5 lite 10-inch, and HUAWEI MediaPad

Log in to your HUAWEI ID and enable the Find Device feature

Before using this feature, log in to your HUAWEI ID and enable Find Device. The earphones location will be displayed once the earphones are connected to your phone/tablet via Bluetooth.

  • Phones or tablets released outside the Chinese mainland will need to be HMS Core compatible and not have GMS installed, and run a version of the Cloud app that is earlier than 10.6.2.3xx.
  • If your phone/tablet has already been connected to the earphones before Find Device is enabled, disable the feature, reconnect your phone/tablet to the earphones, and then re-enable the feature.

Change the Bluetooth name of the earphones

Change the Bluetooth name of the earphones, and then check whether the name of the earphones is displayed in the Find Device app.

Restore your earphones to their factory settings

Press and hold the Function button for more than 10 seconds, until the indicator flashes to restore your earphones to their factory settings. Then pair the earphones with your device and try again.

If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
