Principle behind push notifications
When your watch/band is connected to your iPhone, iOS will read new messages from your phone's Notification Center and then push them to your watch/band.
Setting message notifications
- Make sure that your watch/band is connected to your phone via Bluetooth and linked to the HUAWEI Health app.
- To check your phone's Bluetooth connection status, go to Settings > Bluetooth, and check the connected devices.
- To check the connection status of your watch/band, open the HUAWEI Health app and tap Devices.

- iOS has a memory management mechanism which clears apps that have been running in the background for extended periods of time, so as to ensure smooth system running and power efficiency. It is recommended that you open the HUAWEI Health app more frequently and avoid closing it manually.
- Go to Settings > HUAWEI Health on your iPhone, and turn on the Background App Refresh switch. If the switch is grayed out, go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh, and enable WLAN & Cellular Data.
- Enable app notifications in HUAWEI Health.
- Open the HUAWEI Health app, and choose Devices and then the connected device. Tap Notifications, toggle on Notifications, and toggle on the switches for apps that you want to receive notifications from.

-
If your iPhone receives multiple WeChat messages in a row, the Notification Center may stop receiving new messages. As a result, your paired watch will also not receive any messages. To resolve this issue, open the WeChat app again and keep it running in the background. This will enable new messages to be pushed to the Notification Center and your watch again.
- Open the HUAWEI Health app, and choose Devices and then the connected device. Tap Notifications, toggle on Notifications, and toggle on the switches for apps that you want to receive notifications from.
- Enable app notifications on your phone.
Go to Settings > Notifications on your phone, select a target app, toggle on Allow Notifications, select Notification Center, and select Always for Show Previews.

- If you have enabled Require Face ID for an app, Show Previews will be changed to Never for this app. In this case, you'll need to set Show Previews to Always for your watch to receive notifications from this app.
- If your iPhone runs iOS 15 or later, go to Settings > Focus. If Focus is enabled, disable it and try again.
- Enable system notification sharing.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth, tap the connected device, and toggle on Share System Notifications.

If the issue persists
- Basic check and quick troubleshooting
- Restart the device.
Restart both the phone and watch/band to re-initialize the Bluetooth module.
- Update the software version.
- Update the HUAWEI Health app (iOS): Open App Store, search for HUAWEI Health, and tap Update.
- Update the firmware of the watch/band: Open the HUAWEI Health app, choose Devices and then the connected device, and tap Firmware update.
- Restart the device.
- Network and permission optimization
- Restore the iPhone's network settings (to fix Bluetooth/Wi-Fi issues): Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note that this operation will only restore the Wi-Fi, mobile data network, and Bluetooth settings, and will not delete other data or modify other settings.
- Check the notification permission (for details, see Setting message notifications).
- Ultimate solution
- Uninstall and then reinstall the HUAWEI Health app.
- Sync your data first: Open the HUAWEI Health app, go to Me > Privacy management, and enable Sync fitness data to cloud/Sync health data to cloud. Then, return to the Me screen, tap Settings, and tap Sync data manually.
- Uninstall the HUAWEI Health app, and reinstall it from App Store.
- Restore your watch/band to its factory settings.
- Back up your data (such as watch faces and workout records): Swipe down on the HUAWEI Health app home screen to sync data. Restoring your watch/band to its factory settings will clear the watch faces on it. You can redownload and install the watch faces from the watch face store in the HUAWEI Health app.
- Restore your wearable to its factory settings: Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset/Settings > System > Reset.
- Pair your wearable with your phone again and check whether the message syncing is normal.
- Uninstall and then reinstall the HUAWEI Health app.
