Connect a single HUAWEI earbud to a phone/tablet

Connect a single earbud to a device:

  1. Place an earbud into the charging case and keep the case closed, then open the case 5 seconds later.
  2. Press and hold the Function button for 10 seconds until the indicator flashes red to restore the earbud to its factory settings. (If you are using FreeBuds SE 2, make sure that the other earbud is disconnected, and touch and hold the touch control area on the handle of the earbud in use for 3 seconds for it to enter pairing mode.)

  3. Re-enable Bluetooth in Settings, find the earbud in the list of Available devices or Other devices, and pair the earbud with your device.

If one of the two earbuds cannot be connected:

  1. Check whether the indicator turns on when the earbud in question is placed in the charging case. If the indicator does not turn on, it indicates that the charging contacts are in poor contact. In this case, clean the contacts and put the earbud back into the case.

If you are using WATCH Buds, check whether a tone is played when you put on a single earbud. If not, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.

  2. Take out both earbuds, place them into the charging case again, and close the case. After 5 seconds, open the charging case, take out the earbuds, and try again.
  3. Press and hold the Function button for 10 seconds until the indicator flashes red. (If you are using FreeBuds SE 2, touch and hold the touch control area on the left and right handles at the same time for at least 10 seconds.)

  4. Re-enable Bluetooth in Settings, find the earbuds in the list of Available devices or Other devices, and pair the earbuds with your device.

If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
