Malaysia Authenticity Identification

Basic Concepts

SN: or serial number, is a unique number that records information like the date of production and the warranty status of the product. Each product has only one corresponding serial number.

QR code on packaging box: or counterfeit code, by scanning it, the information that whether the product is an authentic one and the scanning times will be displayed.

Authentictiy Identification via HUAWEI Consumer Official Site

You can authenticate a device via Huawei Consumer Official Site:

  1. Please visit https://consumer.huawei.com/my/support/warranty-query/.

  2. Enter device SN and Verification Code.

  3. Click Search for device authenticity identification.

Result Interpretation

The device is genuine and intended for the Malaysia if the identification result shows the following information:

  • Serial number
  • Expected warranty expiration date
  • Scope: Malaysia

    If the scope is not Malaysia, it means that the device is not intended for Malaysia market, but does not mean the device is not genuine.

Authenticity Identification via the Anti-counterfeit Label

The authenticity of this charger can be identified according to the anti-counterfeit label attached to the product's packaging box (as shown in the follwing figure), and below is the work instruction:

  1. Find the anti-counterfeit label, scratch off the coating, and scan the QR code using WeChat or a QR code scanner app.
  2. Search for the scanning result on c-ver.huawei.com to determine whether the product is a Huawei genuine one or not.
 
  • It has been found that some counterfeits use a fake anti-counterfeit label and guide you to a fake product verification website. If a consumer uses an app such as WeChat to scan the QR code, do copy the URL to a browser to check whether the URL address is c-ver.huawei.com.
  • If you are verifying the product for the first time, you will be notified that this is the first verification try and Huawei thanks you for your support for Huawei accessories.
  • If the packaging box or anti-counterfeit label is lost, you can take the product and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for verification.

Instructions

You can authenticate Smartphones & Tablets through My HUAWEI App/ Support App.

Paths to check E-warranty Card for authentication:
  • My HUAWEI App/Support APP: My HUAWEI App/Support APP > Me > Electronic Warranty Card
  • Phone system: Settings > About phone > Warranty > Electronic Warranty Card
 
  • All Huawei/Honor smartphones manufactured & delivered running EMUI 9.0 or higher version support E-Warranty Card.

    Please note: Phone with the system version updated to EMUI 9.0 or a later version is not eligible to use the Electronic warranty card.

  • All Huawei/Honor Tablet (cellular version) with manufactured & delivered running EMUI 9.0 or higher version support E-Warranty Card.
  • All Huawei/Honor Tablet (Wi-Fi version) with manufactured & delivered running EMUI 9.2 or higher version support E-Warranty Card.

Result Interpretation

The smartphone/tablet is authentic if the information displayed is in accordance with the paramrter and specification of the device. It should be noted that product appearance and color cannot be enquired.
