My HUAWEI phone/tablet makes calls on its own

Perform the following steps to troubleshoot:

1. Automatic pocket calls

In the following scenarios, your phone or tablet is prone to accidentally make calls due to unexpected contact with the skin through thin fabrics in your packet.

Scenario 1: You have placed the phone in your pocket with the screen on after a call ends or a video is played.

Scenario 2: You have placed the phone in your pocket after the screen is unlocked via face unlock.

Scenario 3: You have placed the phone in your pocket with the screen on while no lock screen password has been set.

Make sure that the screen is locked and off before you place your phone in your pocket. You can also set the following features to reduce the chance of pocket calls.

① Go to Settings > Accessibility features, and enable Mistouch prevention.

② Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Wake screen, and disable Raise to wake and Double-tap to wake.

2. Check the phone settings

  • Speed dial is enabled

Once Speed dial is enabled, you'll be able to speed dial a number by holding down on the key. You can also disable the corresponding settings to disable the speed dial function. You can delete the number by opening Phone, touching in the upper right corner, going to Settings > Speed dial, holding down on the number that you've set, and touching Clear assigned number.

  • Answer calls is enabled

Open Settings, search for and touch Answer calls, and disable Answer calls.

  • A contact shortcut is created on the home screen.

The contact shortcut on the home screen is touched by accident, causing a call to be made. It is recommended that you press and hold this icon on the home screen to remove the icon (the icon is displayed as a contact image).

  • You may have installed a third-party dialer app

If so, this app may be making calls on its own. Hold down on the app to uninstall it if it is no longer necessary.

3. Check whether a Bluetooth device is connected

If your phone is connected to a Bluetooth device, check whether you touched the callback button on the Bluetooth device. If so, the Bluetooth device should have initiated a callback to the number in the latest call record on your phone.

4. If the issue remains unresolved

If the issue persists or you encounter any difficulties, please contact the Huawei customer service hotline for assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
