The charger heats up when my HUAWEI phone/tablet is charging |
Problem:
The charger heats up when the phone/tablet is being charged.
Cause:
- Some energy is lost while the charger is converting the voltage and current, and this energy is converted into heat energy, which causes the charger to heat up. It is normal for the amount of heat energy to increase with the charging current.
- If the surrounding temperature is high or if there are other heat sources near the charger, the charger's temperature may also increase.
Solution:
- HUAWEI chargers are designed with a temperature protection function. When the temperature reaches a certain level, the charger will automatically stop charging. In addition, the chargers have obtained China Compulsory Certification (3C), and have been carefully inspected before delivery to make sure that there are no safety concerns.
- The temperature protection function detects the temperature of the internal components of the product, not the temperature of the shell. When the temperature has decreased sufficiently, charging will resume.
- Placing the charger in a well-ventilated area can decrease the temperature of the charger.
- If you suspect that your charger is overheating abnormally, please take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
