The compass or direction arrow points in the wrong direction during navigation |
Magnetic interference on the phone compass can cause a slight deviation in direction. The deviation varies depending on the surroundings. If the issue is affecting your normal use, perform the following:
Keep your phone away from the magnetic interference
The compass sensor can be affected by the surrounding strong magnetic fields. It is recommended that you keep your phone away from a magnet, induction cooker, microwave oven, wireless charging pad, or other magnetic objects while using Compass. In addition, remove the protective case if it is attached with metallic components or decorations.
Calibrate the compass
Compass accuracy may deteriorate if the compass is left unused for a long time. In this case, calibrate the compass as instructed: Open Compass on your phone, then tap a magnetic object or the receiver of another phone against the top left or right of your phone to enter calibration mode (the exact spot may vary between phone models, but it is generally at the top of the phone). Follow the onscreen instructions to draw a "∞" or circle to calibrate the compass.
Certain phone models do not have a compass, so the direction arrow in navigation apps will not move. For information about whether your phone supports the compass function, please call Huawei customer service hotline.
Update your phone to the latest version
Update your phone to the latest version and try again. System updates help improve your phone's performance.
