Unable to use the Wi-Fi bridge feature on my phone |
Problem:
- When turning on the switch for Wi-Fi bridge, the user is prompted with an "Encrypted network connections cannot be shared over a Wi-Fi Bridge."message.
- The user can't enable Wi-Fi bridge when the phone is not connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Cause:
This could be due to the following reasons:
- Your phone has connected to a certificate-encrypted or VPN network, which cannot be shared over Wi-Fi bridge
- Your phone has not connected to any Wi-Fi network, which is a prerequisite for using Wi-Fi bridge.
- Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel, touch and hold the Wi-Fi icon to access the Wi-Fi screen, touch the name of the Wi-Fi hotspot you want to connect to, and check its encryption type. If the encryption type is EAP, the Wi-Fi bridge feature is unavailable.
Solution:
Ensure that your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network that is not either certificate-encrypted, EAP-encrypted, or a VPN network before using the Wi-Fi bridge feature.
Thanks for your feedback.
