Burn-in effect, contours, shadows, or ghost image on the OLED screen

Problem:

The prolonged display of a still image creates contours, shadows, or a ghost image effect

when the phone switches to another screen.

Cause:

Your phone has an OLED screen. When the same content of a still image is displayed on the screen for an extended period of time, its contours or a ghost image may remain visible even after the content on the screen changes. This is a characteristic of all current OLED screens and cannot be resolved at present.

Solution:

  1. No troubleshooting is required as the contours or shadows will fade away shortly after you switch to another screen.
  2. Avoid staying on the same screen for a long period of time, especially if it is displaying a high contrast image. Otherwise, you may need to keep your screen off for a while for it to return to normal.
  3. If the issue persists, back up your data and take your phone and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
