Power consumption details

Open Settings, and search for and access Power consumption details, which displays the following information.

Used xx h xx min or Used xx days

As designed, the battery usage time is the current time minus the time when it was last fully charged.

If the Details screen on your newly purchased phone indicates that the battery has been used for a period of time such as 181 days, it is because:

The system time of a new phone when it is not connected to the network and the time when it was last fully charged are displayed as the default manufacturing time. If you buy the phone 181 days after it is delivered, when you use it for the first time, the system time will be automatically updated to the current time. Therefore, the battery usage time is 181 days (current time - last time when the phone is fully charged).

When you insert a SIM card or connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network, the system time will automatically synchronize with the network time. After you charge the phone again, the correct usage time will be displayed on the Power consumption details screen.

Battery usage from past 2 days

If it has been two days or more since you last fully charged your phone, Battery usage from past 2 days will be displayed.

If it has been two days or more since you last fully charged your phone, Usage since last full charge is displayed.

Usage since last charged 90% shows the power consumption after the last time your phone was charged to 90% or above. In EMUI 10.X & Magic UI 3.X, it is displayed as Usage since last charged 90%.

Mobile network signal

If your phone supports the mobile network, Mobile network signal is displayed and indicates the signal strength instead of the power consumption.

The bars under Mobile network signal indicate the 7 different stability statuses for Mobile network signal, as shown with the following colors:

  • White: No signal. Generally appears when the phone is powering off or in Airplane mode.
  • Red: Weakest signal. The phone is scanning or searching for a network.
  • Green: Strongest signal.
  • Four colors between red and green: Different signal strength levels (the closer to the green color, the more stable the signal).

Camera on

The bars under Camera on indicate that the camera was enabled during the corresponding period. No bar is displayed for when the camera was not used.

GPS on

The bars under GPS on indicate that GPS was enabled during the corresponding period. No bar is displayed for when GPS was not used.

Wi-Fi

The bars below Wi-Fi indicate the time periods when Wi-Fi was working normally. Please note that if Wi-Fi is disabled, but Wi-Fi+ and Wi-Fi scanning are not disabled, a small amount of power consumption may still occur. This is normal and you can disable Wi-Fi+ and Wi-Fi scanning anytime by performing the following:
  1. Open Settings, search for and access Wi-Fi+ and Wi-Fi scanning, and disable the switches.
  2. For details about the power consumption of Wi-Fi, open Settings, search for and access Power consumption details, and check the power consumption of Wi-Fi under the Hardware tab.

Charging

The charging progress bar indicates that the device was being charged during the corresponding period. If no progress bar is displayed, it indicates that the battery was not charged during the corresponding period. The progress bar is refreshed each time you access the Power consumption details screen.

The battery level increases rapidly during the charging period, and the bars below the Charging item indicate when the phone was being charged.

Awake

The bars below Awake indicate when the phone was awake. No bar is displayed for when your phone was idle.

Screen on

The bars below Screen on indicate when the screen was on. No bar is displayed for when the screen was off.

The display of the Power consumption details screen is as follows after your phone is restarted:
  1. When the battery level is less than 90%, the records on the Power consumption details screen will not be cleared.
  2. When the battery level is 90% or higher, the Power consumption details records will be cleared. Neither will the records be cleared when you restart the phone during charging.

If the phone has only been powered on for a short period of time, none of the bars mentioned above will be displayed.
