My HUAWEI phone/tablet fails to detect SIM cards
My HUAWEI phone/tablet fails to detect SIM cards |
If the icon is displayed in the status bar of your phone/tablet, or if only one
icon is displayed after you insert two SIM cards, it indicates that your SIM card(s) cannot be identified. In this case, perform the following steps to check whether a SIM card exception occurs:
Ensure that the SIM card has not been disabled
Open Settings, search for and access SIM management, and enable the SIM card.
Restart your phone
Restart your phone/tablet and check the icons again.
Check whether the appearance of the SIM card is in good condition
- Check whether the metal surface of the SIM card is dirty. If so, clean the surface to avoid poor contact.
- If your SIM card is clipped by yourself, the SIM card may be loosely installed in the card tray due to its irregular shape. In this case, it is recommended that you contact your carrier and replace the SIM card with a standard one.
Check whether the SIM card works properly
If your SIM card cannot be detected after it is installed in another phone/tablet, or if other SIM cards can be detected when it is installed in your phone/tablet, it indicates that your SIM card may be faulty. In this case, take your ID card to the carrier's nearest service center to replace the SIM card.
Check whether the SIM card is inserted into a wrong slot
Certain phones only support one SIM card. The inner side of the card tray is the NM card slot, and the outer side is the SIM card slot. Refer to the marks on the card tray frame when inserting the SIM card. If the SIM card or NM card is placed incorrectly, the device will fail to recognize it.
If the issue persists, back up your data in advance and take your device to a nearby Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
