Unable to detect the SIM card

If there is a no-signal icon () displayed on your phone, please refer to The phone has an unstable signal.

If there is a no-SIM card icon () displayed on your phone, or if two SIM cards are inserted and only one signal icon is displayed, it indicates that the SIM card cannot be detected. In this case, please refer to the following:

Restart your phone

Restart your phone and check the icons again.

Check whether the appearance of the SIM card is in good condition

  • Check whether the metal surface of the SIM card is dirty. If so, clean the surface to avoid poor contact.
  • If you have cut the SIM card by yourself, the SIM card may not be in a standard shape to fit well into the tray, which may result in poor contact. In this case, it is recommended that you contact your carrier and replace the SIM card with a standard one.

Check whether your SIM card is functioning normally

If your SIM card cannot be detected after it is installed in another phone, or if other SIM cards can be detected when it is installed in your phone, it indicates that your SIM card may be faulty. In this case, take your ID card to the carrier's nearest service center to replace the SIM card.

Check whether the SIM card is in the corresponding slot

Some phone only has one card slot, with the SIM card slot in the outer side of the card slot while the memory card slot is in the inner side. Placing cards in the wrong slots may result in the phone being unable to detect the cards.

If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
