1. Maintenance and cleaning

The rear cover is made of leather with a smooth and breathable coating. If it gets dust on it, use cloth dipped in cold water to wipe it clean. Stains can be wiped off using a damp cloth dipped in a specialized leather cleanser of a moderate pH. It is normal that leather has a varying or uneven texture. This does not indicate an issue with the cover.

Note:

As with other natural materials, stains caused by the contact with ink or other materials can not be removed. Care tips have been provided with your device for your reference.

2. Usage tips

• Wipe the case regularly with a soft cloth dipped in cold water.

• Wipe off stains with a damp cloth dipped in a specialized leather cleanser.

• Do not use polishing agents, alcohol, or wax.

• You can maintain the leather rear cover with a specialized leather care cream.

• Leather may have slight dyeing caused by friction, especially in a humid environment.

3. Characteristics of full grain leather (applicable to the HUAWEI P20 Pro leather edition)

• The natural texture is clearly visible under a delicate and breathable layer of protective coating of the leather case.

• Thanks to the self-healing feature, light fingernail scratches on the rear cover will slowly disappear with your use of the device.

• Soft and durable, full grain leather surface will continue to shine well into the future as long as you maintain it with care.

4. Maintenance guide for the leather rear cover

The rear cover of this device is coated in leather with natural smooth texture that needs your special care and maintenance. It is normal if wear and tear or aging occurs during use. To keep the leather rear cover in good shape, perform the following:

• Do not expose the rear cover under the sunlight or in hot and humid environment for a long time. Avoid direct contact with heat sources (such as radiator and car interior heated by sunlight).

• Avoid contact with greasy substances, cosmetics, perfume, hydroalcoholic solutions, and other materials (including magazines and other types of leather) that may cause color contamination on the rear cover.

• Keep the case away from water. If the rear cover is wet or dirty, wipe it carefully using a clean, soft, lint-free, and light-colored cleaning cloth. Then, dry the rear cover in open air. Do not wash it with soap or any cleaning solution.

• Avoid scratching the leather rear cover.

Note:

Since the rear cover is made of leather, it is not water-resistant. The normal wear and aging of the leather rear cover and the damage caused by lack of care are not covered under warranty.

Texture difference of leather rear covers (applicable to the Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design):

The product's rear cover uses full-grain leather, which comes from the top layer of the hide. This type of leather retains the inherent toughness as well as the imperfections of the hide because the surface is not altered or split. It is the highest quality leather and retains a natural look and texture. It is normal that leather has a varying or uneven texture. This does not indicate an issue with the cover.
