An exclamation mark is displayed on the Wi-Fi icon

Problem:

  1. An exclamation mark is displayed on the Wi-Fi icon, but the network can be used properly.
  2. An exclamation mark is displayed on the Wi-Fi icon, indicating that the network is unavailable.

Solution:

Perform the following steps to locate the fault:

1. Restart your phone/tablet and reconnect to the Wi-Fi network

2. Reset the network settings of your phone/tablet

Open Settings, enter "Reset network settings" in the search box, and touch Reset network settings to restore. (Note: This operation will delete the stored Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection records and reset the mobile data network.) Reconnect to the Wi-Fi network.

3. Restart the router

If an exclamation mark is displayed on the Wi-Fi icon, it is recommended that you remove and re-insert the power supply of the router and reconnect to the Wi-Fi network.

4. Check whether your device can connect to another Wi-Fi network properly

If the issue is resolved after you connect to another Wi-Fi network, contact your broadband service provider to check whether there is a network failure or contact the router vendor to check whether the router is faulty.

If the issue persists after you connect to another Wi-Fi network, please contact the Huawei customer service hotline for assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
