Problem

It takes a long time to open Office apps such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint on the computer.

Cause

This may happen because of the large file size or plug-ins installed in those apps are causing them to respond slowly.

Solution

Office apps are developed by Microsoft and are only connected to the Microsoft activation server. Linking the apps with a Microsoft account once will take effect permanently. It is recommended that you contact Microsoft's customer service for assistance. You can also try the following solutions.

Method 1: Reset Office apps.

1. Click the Windows icon and then the Settings icon, and select Apps.

   Search for Office in the search box under Apps & features, find Microsoft Office Desktop Apps, and click Advance.

2. On the Advance screen, click Reset.

Method 2: Uninstall the original Office apps and reinstall them (remember the Microsoft account and password before the uninstallation).

1. Open the official Microsoft website and click Sign in in the upper right corner.
2. Log in with your Microsoft account that has been activated and linked to Office.
3. On the Services and Subscriptions page, click Install on the right of the linked product, and install the Office apps online as prompted.
